My name is Wez Venables and I am a guitar builder (luthier). I
have been repairing and modifying guitars for about 10 years and building
them from scratch for the last four years. I enjoy producing one-off guitars based on peoples idea of their ideal
guitar. I am also developing a line of standard models, the first of which can be seen below.
I also have help from my cousin Nathan Peach. Currently Nath is in charge of finishing duties and
he is also sharing the building process as well. You can see his first original design below the 'Super DC'.
About my guitars
All my guitars are produced by hand with relatively few power tools. Wood is hand picked for
its tone, weight and appearance. Necks are individually shaped to match the players needs.
Lacquer finishes are the responsability of my sprayer/cousin, Nathan Peach from the band 'My Deny'
(see links pages). We are currently using traditional nitrocellulose lacquer because it sinks into the wood with
time and ages nicely. We also offer the option of oil & wax finishes - this feels very nice on necks!
